How To Make Dispenser In Minecraft? The Step-by-Step Guide

The majority of things you need to do in Minecraft must be done manually. Taking it into account for crafting and building makes sense, but getting into the details of combat and protection can quickly get out of hand.  In addition to firing projectiles, placing certain blocks, and doing a lot more, this block takes a lot of the workload off your shoulders once it’s ready.

In Minecraft, a Dispenser is a block that can be used to automatically distribute items. To make a dispenser in Minecraft, collect the following materials:

  • 3 Sticks
  • 1 Redstone Torch
  • 5 Iron Ingots
  • 1 Block of Redstone

The steps-by-step guide to make dispenser in Minecraft

1. Gathering material

Place your red stone torch on any side of your crafting table and place three sticks above it. Right click the red stone torch with an iron ingot to create a Redstone torch timer.

2. Arranging sticks

Place your last stick below your first one and then place two more onto the sides of your first stick (the vertical part). This will result in four total sticks placed outwards from each other. Next, place another stick horizontally across the top of your four sticks to create a small square.

3. Placing iron in center

Finally, place your final iron ingot in the center of this square while facing up towards the sky. This will finish off your crafting table making the base for your dispenser. After you are finished with this, make sure to put it into your inventory for later use.

4. Redstone powder

Once you have collected enough materials and placed everything out properly on your crafting table, right click on one side of the block that you want your dispenser to be located at (the bottom version is where items will come out). This will then complete making a Redstone powered item dispenser.

It works by using an invisible minecart rail system to push items from the bottom center out towards the sides. It can be used to distribute coal, wood, and iron ingots among a number of other things! To turn off your dispenser after it has been made, right click on your Redstone torch timer with an iron ingot in hand. This will disable the rail system and allow you to work on it more easily if needed.

5. Arranging blocks

Once finished making a dispenser in Minecraft, place down your newly created item anywhere that there is at least two blocks of open space (open air) around it facing upwards toward the sky (straight up). After this, place one piece of any sort of block next to this new structure or against any other existing wall that is not facing the same way.

This will then complete making a dispenser in Minecraft. If placed correctly, it should be facing a block that you have just put next to it and it should be facing upwards toward the sky with nothing on top of the dispenser itself.

6. Items obtaining from inventory

With your Redstone powered item Dispenser now made, find any type of item that you want to distribute from this new structure. Retrieve your items from inside your inventory by clicking on them or pressing the corresponding key for them while facing towards the bottom of the dispenser (the side where there is no blocks touching it). Each time an item is retrieved from a dispenser, it moves one slot closer to being completely emptied inside of this particular structure.

7. How to refill dispenser?

If you need to refill your dispenser with items, simply return back to the original crafting table that was used to make your Dispenser. This will allow you to craft more of whatever item it is that you want this structure to distribute. Keep in mind that the amount of items inside a dispenser can be seen by looking at the number on top of it while facing directly towards it if using Xbox 360/PS3 or by hovering your mouse over the Redstone powered item Dispenser if using PC.

8. Arranging correct directions

9. Obtaining items from inventory

With your Redstone powered item Dispenser now made, find any type of item that you want to distribute from this new structure. Retrieve your items from inside your inventory by clicking on them or pressing the corresponding key for them while facing towards the bottom of the dispenser (the side where there is no blocks touching it). Each time item is retrieved from a dispenser, it moves one slot closer to being completely emptied inside of this particular structure.

10. Functions in remote

With how a redstone powered item Dispenser works now understood, keep in mind that you can make as many as desired per individual Minecraft world and that each one can be programmed with redstone to distribute any desired item(s) remotely.

Conclusion

Return back to the Crafting Table (1 or 3) and add more of your newly created Dispenser item (2) until you have all of the number necessary for the amount of dispensers that you want in your world. Keep in mind, currently there is a limit on how many items a dispenser can hold within it; this is because Minecraft’s programming will not allow you to add an infinite number of any given item into a single block.

Create as many Dispensers as possible by repeating step 2. If done correctly, you should now have an unlimited supply of Dispensers in your inventory. From here on, you can keep pressing 2 on your Crafting Table as many times as possible to make more Dispensers.
